Do you know what the coolest thing is about this “job” (if that’s what you call it)?  You can do it from anywhere!  Right now, it is a beautiful Saturday afternoon and I realized there is no point in being cooped up in the house “working” all day.  I live in a nice neighborhood on a nice lake, so I decided I would work on my tan seeing that summer is approaching rather quickly.  So, that is what I happen to be doing right now as I write this article.  Yeh, I know it’s probably not the coolest thing to bring my laptop to the lake (especially with all these females around), but I’m a little behind on work and it’s just a perfect day.  Sorry to get off track, but I’ll warn you it probably won’t be the last time.  I kind of want to feel you guys in on what’s going on in Lazyville before I dive into business. (p.s. I packed a cooler with a few beers, so excuse me if this post doesn’t make complete sense.  I’ll try my best) 

Now onto the basics:

The basics.  It’s the most important part of anything you do or want to know how to do.  It is the foundation, the keystone to success.  If you do not understand the basics then you will just never understand it.  If you do not know the alphabet, then you will not be able to write, much less read.  If you cannot add then you sure can’t multiply.  You get the point.  But seriously, I talk to people all the time that just do not understand the basics of making money on the internet, maybe you are one of those people, so I will do my best to explain.  It’s really simple when you think about it; you need two components to make money in anything you do.  First, there must be supply, and then of course there must be demand!  It is that simple.  Supply and demand control everything.  Want to make money in the stock market, well buy when supply is high (price is low) and sell when supply is low (price is high).  Of course it is a little more technical than that, but that is the basics.  Well, you make ask, where is the supply and demand in the internet?  And there are endless answers to that question.  But sticking with the basics, look around, I am supplying knowledge and you are demanding it, you are here right? 

Moving on.  So, how do I make money from supplying you knowledge?  The basic answer is traffic.  Traffic comes to this site, and I make money from that… you see the ads?  They pay me.  The more traffic the site receives, the more money I will make!  I know most of you are probably wondering why I have to talk about this, but seriously some people do not understand and that is quite alright, a lot of you are here to learn.  And you will!  We will get into the nuts and bolts of traffic later; it is a huge subject on its own, but it is the single most important component of a successful website because it is part of the basics.  You could have the flashiest, coolest, most awesome website but if no one comes to it then it will not be successful.  The equation is simple:

Quality Content (supply) + Traffic (demand) = Success ($$)

So from now on when you are browsing the internet, take a look around and ask yourself, “How is this person making money?”  Chances are that they are in fact making some money!  Remember the basics and you too will make money.  But, hold on, do not be discouraged if you don’t own a fancy website, there are plenty of ways to make money online without owning anything.  We will talk about that soon.  Right now though, I am too hot, my laptop is about to go dead, so I am about to jump in the lake and drink another beer.  Stay tuned.  Be sure to subscribe to our RSS feeds, so you can stay on top of things.

So you want to be an entrepreneur?  First, you have to have the mindset of one!

Entrepreneurs are thinkers, they are innovators and dreamers.  They lead the pack, not follow the circus.  Great innovators are willing to hear the thoughts and advice of others, but they are not necessarily listening.  You see, most people that claim to be experts will say that your idea is not possibe, or unattainable.  Forget them!  Do you remember the saying, “You can do anything you set your mind to.”?  That is absolutely true!  I believe it to the highest power.  No one can tell you that you cannot do something!  Well, they can tell you but you do not have to listen (entrepreneurs don’t listen to negative critics)!  Because you can do it, if you have the passion and desire to achieve it.  How many people do you think told the Wright brothers: “If man were meant to fly, he would have wings!”?  They did not listen.  Or what about Alex Bell and his “crazy” idea of a device that would allow one to have a conversation with another person miles away?  I’m sure he was laughed upon, told that it was impossible.  Nothing is impossible.  It’s those ideas that change the world.  Bell could have sat back and listened to the “experts” tell him that his idea is impossible.  But no, a great a great entrepreneur does not listen to someone elses thoughts of impossibility.  What if the Wright brothers and Bell had listened to their critics?  We might still be flightless, telephoneless people!  It seems that ALL the Billion dollar ideas were once impossible.  But, remember impossible is nothing!

Another great characteristic of an entrepreneur is the ability to take action.  Do you know how many people, prior to the telephones invention, dreamed of being able to talk to their loved ones across the country?  There is no telling (I’m sure it was a lot though).  You see, it was a dream and most people believe that dreams are not real, they are impossible!  Not Mr. Alex Bell, he acted on his dream and made it a reality.

So next time you have a crazy idea, maybe it is not that crazy after all.  Take action and do not listen to negative criticism, it is the skeptics that get nowhere and the dreamers that change the world!

Welcome everybody!

Since this is our very first post, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce myself and my partner.  My name is Adam Malone and my partner is Jason Braud.  We are both 23 years old and have known each other for about six years.  We share the same passion for entrepreneurship as well as a mutual interest in the internet and how people each day are making tons of money utilizing it.  So with that being said, that brings us to the point of this site.  You ask, “What is the point?”, well the point is to educate all that want to learn about making money on the internet.  We are going to offer tips on how to make money online on a regular basis so that you guys may take our advice and benefit from our hard research.  We will tell you what works and what does not (at least for us).

So sit back and enjoy.  We encourage you to interact with us (post comments, write e-mails…) as much as possible.  We want to get to know our readers and help you guys in anyway we can.  So don’t be afraid to ask us anything.

Now, this brings us to our name, RichLazyBums.  No, we are not filthy rich (not yet anyway), but that is the goal here.  We want our readers to take our advice and hopefully become a rich, lazy bum if that’s what you desire!  That wouldn’t be a bad lifestyle afterall, sure beats working from 9 to 5.  So we encourage you to join the thousands that have already chosen to make their living online.  If we can do it, I promise you can too!  It’s going to be a great journey, enjoy the ride!
